  • ANTI-MALWARES detected 2 threats - should I clean them up?

Just done a manual monthly scan with free anti-malwares and this came up as threats in need of clean up. Didn't click on clean up as don't know what they are. Both entries look the same:

PUP OptionalAdvancedSystemProtector - then gives Reg key.

Does anyone know what this might be and whether I should clean it up?

Going to be offline for a while now. Many thanks.

PUP is Potentially Unwanted Program. I always clean them!

Thamk you both - now will try and work out how to find them and delete -might have to rescan.

ADDED: Went into history. Seems to have quarantined them all so now deleted them all.

Advance System Protector is quiet commonly packeaged with other programs. I know for instance that it offered with the Smart Defrag program, which I have on my laptop. Whenever downloading free tools or utilities check each page that is presented to you and see if it is an offer to include another program in download. This is the 'Potentially Unwanted Program (PUP).

Also be careful which button you press on these pages. The accept/decline button will change postion on each page, just to catch you off. Also check for tick boxes
