Updating my computer

I've tried updating my computer, windows 8, when the prompt tells me to. Last night it said 1.of 36, gosh, let it upload and then after it had finished it said undoing as we were unable to update. Have I got something locked to prevent it updating, can you help please. This has happened all the time and I haven't been able to update.

My son says it sounds as if one of the updates is failing so it rolls the whole lot back. He suggests installing a couple at a time. This way you may narrow down the problem one.

If you are just on Win 8, then you should download the update for Win 8.1 separately. It is large so let it download overnight after it has installed, then try downloading any other updates
