  • DVD- Problem Help Required

I purchased a DVD today (teach yourself type). I rarely play a DVD on my Samsung Laptop so this is a new problem to me.

First off the DVD started well so I thought that I would like to view all the lessons but this where the problem comes in: I do not appear to be able to rewind it there are eight lessons on this DVD and I have got to chapter 4 and I do not appear to be able to go forward because I have not answered the questions in the first section. Each time I eject the DVD and close the laptop down and restart it later but this section at the end of chapter 4 appears to be in the memory and still I cannot move either way. I think this could be something to do with Media Player but what?

I hope someone can offer me some help.

I cannot be certain which version of Windows Media Player you are using, so this may not be quite the same for yours...

If you hover the mouse over the video window, a menu strip should appear at the bottom (see example below)...

If you click on the down arrow next to where it says DVD, there should be an option called Root Menu that will take you back the beginning of the disk.

      Dave,

Many thanks, I have got the root menu but did not know what its function was. I find that just about everything on this RV520 needs an update and Media Player is one. They are pushing 10.5 either free or with frills at cost.
Will take a look at this function later. Many thanks. (Update This has worked well - problem resolved at present).
A Happy New Year to All.

Try a free player such as VLC Player. It will usually perform better than Media Player.
Secondly, it might have the equivilent of a bookmark, remembering where you left off so that you may continue from that point. After all, if you have done the work so far then there should be no reason to go over it again (Just thinking logically)
