Has anybody with a Mac tried this as a way to get Windows based programmes to run without the need for a virtual machine running Windows as happens in Parallels or as alternative to using Bootcamp? I’d appreciate any opinions both good and bad.
I found this website tonight and thought it looked worth a try. It does not need Windows and to put it simply, it translates a programme’s commands into ones that a Mac can use; at least that’s my (limited) understanding anyway. There is 14 day trial.
I checked their compatibility database and it appears that FTM, RootsMagic and FamilyHistorian will all run using Crossover although perhaps not the latest versions as yet.
It will work with up to BigSur but I see from the blurb that they are working on updating it for Monterey.
