GMail help

I am trying to add a new email address to Gmail, and want it as my primary , can anybody tell me how in simple terms thanks

1. click on the cog in the top right corner, and in the dropdown that appears select Show All Settings.
2. Then click on the Accounts and Import tab.
3. Under the Send Mail As heading there is an option to add another email address
