As the weeks go by the help threads will "vanish" so I've stuck them. I don't like so many stickied threads, but needs must!

Have you a story to tell?

        https://www.familytreeforum.com/foru...rs-in-52-weeks

We're almost halfway through but just because you missed the first one doesn't mean you can't join in with this!!

yummy-mummy-amy hasn't missed a week and I think Paulc has "kept up".
I've done about half and have another 4 on the go and no ideas yet about who/what/where to write about for the others. I just publish when they are ready.
Others have dipped in and out as they find a topic grabs them.

I've done it again!! Set off to write a quick article about my blacksmith family (for Week 15: Fire), and have ended up researching the iron industry in Sussex in the 1750s. No wonder I can never finish any of the articles.

It only takes one "! wonder why ....??? and then a casual remark from my brother, remembering I had a book about Bramshott and the next thing there are tabs open, links saved and yet another book bought.

It is an area I know from when we lived nearby - from when I was about 8 to when my parents left when I was about 23 - not that we had any idea of any connections when we were there - so that gives me even more rabbit holes to go into.

Well done, Paul. Your stories are nice easy reading, I hope your descendants and others appreciate them.

Thank you, I have evolved and settled on a format and some ancestors are naturally in more records than others. The elderly relatives enjoy them, the youngsters not so much, but hopefullly in time they will.

I have viewed many of your stories but I don't think mine are as readable, although I am trying to find ways to make them less dry in the reading but sticking to facts when it would be so easy to embellish.

It is not easy to remove some of the 'boring' bits as they need to be there, you need the content.

I think they are all good, I did find some of the text a bit small though, the font size and type has changed between posts, I personally found it easier to read the larger size.

I actually don't like sites where the background doesn't move, but that is probably just me.

Don't be too critical and harsh on yourself, your stories are thoroughly well researched and laid out, agree with Carolyn about font size, but thats because my eyes aren't as good as they used to be! I always try to add pictures as well to break up the text where you can. When I read a lot of other peoples posts, I always think they flow so much better than mine do, the important things is to keep writing!!

If you want some really good examples of wonderfully flowing writing my friend Jude's are the best I have seen.
