Thank you Caroline. I have so many agricultural workers/ farmers and Gentleman farmers or people with association to farming that I was spoilt for choice as to who to write about. It has taken me so long to decide who to write about that I am late in adding this story. I hope to write about others in the fullness of time.

This weeks story is about James Pye 1830-1874 and his wife Louisa Martin, his work from miller and bailiff to running his own farm until his relatively young death. and what happened to his family.

My g'g'grandparents divorced in the latter 1800s. The divorce papers reflect who got how many chickens, pigs, crop yields for the current year, and so on.
