Week 32 (Aug. 9-15): In the City

"They went and built a skyscraper seven stories high / About as high as a building oughta grow!"

Were any of your ancestors "city folk"?

Did your farming ancestors leave any tales of trips to the big city?

What was the "big" city they would have visited -- and how is it different today?

Thank you Caroline. This week I have written the first part of a Trilogy, starting with my 3 x Great Grandfather, William Youell, and his family's move from a small rural community to Bermondsey, London.

mmany of my ancestors were farm workers so in the city took some thinking and a play on words. https://purplerosefamilytree.blogspo...5-in-city.html
