  • Can you identify this regiment

The man is my Uncle and really want his army records but, need to identify the regiment, as when I applied they could not find them.
I have a suspicion he was using a different surname.
His Sister said he served in India in the medical corp, but not too sure thats right.

    Was it definitely Army?

Could that be RAF side hat with badge?

It's a British Army forage cap ww2. correctly known as a Field Service Cap. Unless you have one of the badge/s on his cap or arm you won't be able to identify the branch of the army he was in.
My grandfather was in the Royal Army Medical Corps in WW1 - seated right:

He would have probably have used a forage cap.

But in WW2 was a Local Defence Volunteer (Home Guard)
      Possibly wearing his WW1 uniform?

As I said, Val, unless you can identify the branch, division etc of the army he was in, it's impossible to say where he was. Wherever the British Army was there would have been RAMC.
Have you found him on 1939 Register?

Thanks Kat, I do have another photo of him supposed to have been taken in India while serving. He was a dodgy character which is why I am trying to find his records, he used a fake name more than once.
Oh and no not found him in 1939
