I've just scribbled a time line of 'finds' so far, trying to pinpoint possible dates for deaths. Not sure it helps, still can't find them!

Martha Chinn nee Gilbert 'dies' between 1866 - 1874
    Elias Chinn 'dies' between 1874/1875 - 1881

Thanks for everyone's help with this. If you want to give up, I will understand! I've made some headway with your help, much appreciated.

I have to go out now, but will look back in later this evening.

Ohh that is very spooky!! Shame that this is my only Chinn family !

Elias was born Dorset, according to census c1836 and I haven't looked into his ancestry as he married into my Gilbert family. But it looks a possible connection !
