Thanks, Kelly. Now I'll know whereabouts to look for him on the electoral roll.

Kelly, hopefully this will help a little bit:
The electoral roll for 1919 and 1920 list George Smith at 7 Mitre Terrace. Then from 1921 until Mitre Terrace seems to disappear(!) in 1939, it lists George and Emma.

          EXCEPT for:
          1933-4
          Smith, George
          Smith, Emma
          Smith, John George
          Smith, Walter
          Stevens, Arthur

In 1934-5 Arthur is still there but John George and Walter aren't.

So very probably John George and Walter are George's sons from his first marriage.

            Hi Kiterunner,

Thank you for your help, it is truly appreciated.

I will have a look for possible births for John George and Walter. I think Arthur is Emma's son from her first marriage. Emma's eldest son was called Frederick A Stevens, so he could be Arthur who is shown on the electoral roll.

Thank you once again for your help.

            Kelly.
