Yes, isn't it odd. How annoying - I was getting quite excited when I saw 16,000 baptisms for Co. Louth, because the Irish PR site is pretty expensive, and one of my people isn't on it anyway.

Doesn't make much sense does it? I've just tried a search entering only "Ireland" for the location and nothing else, and it brought up around 30 records for people baptised in Ireland - many of whom don't have Irish-sounding names. So I wonder if these are the British individuals born in foreign countries? I don't see any mention of London in the records though.

If you put "Ireland" in the "christening place" box, 29 records come up, not all of which are actually in Ireland.

Maybe they've included them one one of their Irish databases.

One of mine - Irish christening taken from the BIVRI

          RUMBLE, Minie Elizabeth
          Gender: Female
Birth Date: 26 Oct 1869 Birthplace: 258, "rathmullen, Don, Ire
          Recorded in: Donegal, Ireland
          Collection: Civil Registration
          Father: Henry RUMBLE
          Mother: Kate WYNNE
          Source: FHL Film 101196 Dates: 1869 - 1870

Searching for Min* Rumble on Ancestry doesn't show the BIVRI entry.

It is not 100% accurate. A marriage was given as Bristol but took place in Paddington as from Free bmd complete with scan. But their daughter WAS born in Bristol a year later.
Was that a freudian slip on the part of the transcriber??

.. or may be the Irish ones just haven't been included.
I cannot see the example I gave above on the new LDS site either, yet it is definitely on the BIVRI discs.

The Ancestry description (see my previous post) only refers to the English and Welsh records from BIVRI, so that would suggest that this does not include the Irish records.

These are not the complete BIVRI records as I have not found anything from Barton upon Humber & surrounding areas, despite knowing they appear on the discs
