Thanks... I am still a little confused.
It says 'PRESTWICH' parish, but the register office is Oldham?? Yet when I look at LancsBMD.. there is an Oldham Above Town and an Oldham Below Town.

The Genuki doesn't help?? Does anyone know which is the correct one??

          Thanks

whilst looking at the Genuki page there is a link further down for Oldham reg office, which then leads to this page:

Oldham Council - Births, Marriages & Deaths - Birth/Death/Marriage Certificates

perhaps a phone call to the relevant office and they might be able to help?

Oldham didn't become a registration district until 1848, so we can rule that one out! But Hollinwood isn't listed under Ashton district either.

Just found on Wikipedia it says that Hollinwood was part of the township of Chadderton, and Ashton district did include Chadderton in 1847, so it'll be Ashton you want.
