Joan Atkinson married 1947 to Sydney Bell. He is on 1939 Register as single living with his widowed mother Jane A(nn) nee Ruddick which matches the ancestry tree. His father had been called Thomas. Sydney was a police constable. He lived in Corbridge in later life according to electoral rolls and he has actually passed away in Corbridge in 2013 but it’s indexed as Sidney not Sydney.

Have checked the red ref on both ancestry and FTM versions. The right hand side page is still not available but in red there is a ref back to page 9, the main entry for the household with Henry and Eliz. A.

I was going to suggest contacting St John's Church in Dipton as I assume it was "your" Atkinsons' family church. (It is on Front Street, as was the Red Lion Hotel.)
Unfortunately, however, it is currently listed as "closed or unattached" so I'm not sure where you might go for further info. Some nice interior and exterior pics here though:

I looked at St. John's too and was hoping the memorial people would get back to me sooner rather than later

Did you want more info, I am not quite sure where you are with this now?

I don't think you have much on Henry now?

I have tried again but I think I need to wait and see what comes of the email to the memorial people. I want to thank everyone for having a look, the airmen are to be remembered on a new memorial and I am the only one researching them, I am sooooooo grateful for everyones time.

Can I ask and are you allowed to reveal. Is the Memorial going to be in Notts.

If you aren't allowed to tell us don't feel guilty. Just being nosy!!!

It will be just outside of Cotgrave near the crash site.
