  • where to start for 12th child

    hi,
i'm after help and advice please. Where do i start to try and find the 12th child? no idea if male/female or born in ireland or durham are uk (family have both). i cant find the child listed on any census.
my 3rd g.grandparents (robert lackey and mary jane jackson of saintfield ireland) had 12 children according to 1911 census. of those 12 7 lived after 1911, 5 had died before it. i have all 5 that died before it. (marked with emoji).

the lackey children i have are as follows:
:( Margaret Jane lackey born 1867 ireland died 1903
Thomas Jackson lackey born 1868 ireland died 1937
James lackey born 1870 ireland died 1932
:( robert lackey born 1873 durham died 1893
:( elizabeth lackey born 1874 durham died 1907
john jackson lackey born 1876 durham died 1934
sarah lackey born 1877 durham died 1951
:( william francis lackey born 1879 died 1891
gardiner lackey born 1881 durham died 1963
julia anne lackey born 1883 durham died 1940
:( george alexander lackey born 1885 durham died 1889

? lackey born ? died after 1911 - no idea on this person and where i need help if possible. thank you

Are you sure James b 1870 was b Ireland?

I can see on GRO index 2 births

James Lackey b June q 1870 Durham, mmn Jackson
James Lackey b Dec q 1871 Durham, mmn Jackson

There is a death for a James Lackey June q 1871 Durham age O

sorry james was Durham, but not either of those just checked his birth cert and oct 1870. That would link to the death of 1871 and possibly had another baby and called james in the dec who is of the later death that i have. BUT this doesnt match with the 1911 census as gives me an extra death before 1911. :( ummmm.....puzzle.

I think if your Elizabeth b 1874 married Burlison, she didn't die until 1939

So that makes it right now doesn’t it? With the other James who died?

Margaret Jane lackey born 1867 ireland died 1903
Thomas Jackson lackey born 1868 ireland died 1937
James lackey born 1870 ireland died 1932

Robert lackey born 1873 durham died 1893
Elizabeth lackey born 1874 durham died 1907 I think if your Elizabeth b 1874 married Burlison, she didn't die until 1939
john jackson lackey born 1876 durham died 1934
sarah lackey born 1877 durham died 1951
william francis lackey born 1879 died 1891
gardiner lackey born 1881 durham died 1963
julia anne lackey born 1883 durham died 1940
george alexander lackey born 1885 durham died 1889

That makes 12 born and 5 have died?

                  hi,
yes elizabeth married mr burlison, but i have a death record for an elizabeth burlison 1907 chester le street. :( however, i have just found her on 1939 census so looks like the 1907 death is not her but another of same name - possibly his sister or cousin or something!

                    UPDATE

the certs have arrived and both births are mine - as in the parents listed are my 3x g.grandparents. however the death im not 100% on, the fathers name is that of robert lackey which is correct, but occupation is listed as coal miner and he was boot maker all his life. The death is for an 11month old so the james of 1870. do you think its likely to be right death even though occupation wrong?

                      I do.
I can see on a Durham burial record that the address is the same as that on the 1871 census ie Pittington
There are no other 1871 deaths for Durham reg for a James Lackey of that age
Perhaps the informant did not know Robert's occupation and guessed the likely one of Coal Miner
