    Parentage of Charles John Mead

It's a while since I posted but hope someone can help me.

Trying to find parents of a Charles John Mead born Feb 1910 in Bristol, Glos. I have searched FreeBMD using surname of Mead and I'm told mother was an Eliza Jane and that's all we know other than he dies in Bristol 1957. He appears in the 1939 Register also in Bristol with his widowed mother Eliza J.

We will purchase a Birth Cert if we have to but maybe help is at hand?

GRO index has mmn for Charles John Mead's birth as Towler.

Arthur Steven Mead married Eliza Jane Towler Q2 1900 Bristol, so these are probably the parents you are looking for.

Whilst looking for your Charles I found this - had to laugh:

Elise Emmaline Mead Daughter Single Female 15 1896 Turking In Birds Custard Pkt Bristol Staple Hill

I think it actually reads lurning (learning???) LOL.

Even learning in a Birds Custard packet sounds very restrictive lol:D
