Cornelius Curtin & Mary Ellen Fitzgerald

    Anyone know this couple?

Cornelius Curtin, a Carpenter & Mary Ellen Fitzgerald married in Feb 1937 Dublin. Her father was William Fitzgerald an Engine Driver. Witnesses: Witnesses: James Cusack & Sheila Pollard (My late Aunt and late uncle) I cannot find anything further on them.

I know that Cornelius was born 1912 in Caherciveen, Father Thoma Curtin, Carpenter.

      Thanks Elwyn,

I do have all of that information and have traced the Curtin family backwards.
It's going forwards that I have no further info on Cornelius Curtin, & Mary Ellen Fitzgerald.

Did they have any children and where did they end up living?

        Teresa,

On-line death records run up to 1965 but I don’t see Cornelius in those. So either he died after 1965 or had left Ireland.

There’s 2 Cornelius Curtin births in Dublin (1940 & 1941) and 8 Mary Curtin births (1944 – 1956). Depending on your level of interest you could investigate them. You’d need to get copies from Roscommon at €4 each, as recent birth certificates aren’t on-line.

Glasnevin Cemetery has a Cornelius Curtin burial in 1989 aged 77. He had a Dublin 7 address. You can pay to view the details. If it’s the right man then you could search National Archives for a will. (Wills for 1989 are not on-line so far as I am aware). His death certificate will tell you whether Mary Ellen was still alive at that date, so you'll know which direction to search for her death.
