    MacMillan

Hi I'm looking for any information on the following people who left the UK from Liverpool bound for Sydney Australia on 20 September 1923 aboard the SS Beltana in third class
    Kathleen (Katherine/Catherine ? ) Mary MacMillan age approx 25
    John Leonard MacMillan age 5
    G..... E...... Webb age 2
The address in the uk is given as 2 Roff Yard, James Street, Selby Yorks
How long would the journey have been, what happened to them when they arrived?
    Regards
    Sandra

Sorry Sandra but I have removed the names of the children until we can establish that they are deceased. Our T&C's don't allow the names of living people, or those who may still be alive. If you can assure us that either are deceased we can put them back in.

    John Leonard now reinstated

If you are viewing the passenger list on Ancestry, then go back to page 219 which is the start of the passenger listing, you can see that the voyage was scheduled to take 54 days.

Have you tried searching Trove newspapers - http://trove.nla.gov.au/
A great resource and very often holds some interesting snippets.

                    Sandra -
Altho ftf does not allow living persons' names to be used, we often help using the private messaging system. You could, for instance, post that you are "looking for descendants of John Leonard MacMillan in NSW, please send PM if you know of anything."

Oftentimes this is done in the private Sensitive Research section. You could ask a moderator to move it there - or not, if you hope that some day another researcher may encounter this thread on a web search.

                    Welcome to ftf!
