Goodness me 5 marriages and the first 4 not lasting very long ! I'm grateful for the link to family search as there is a good deal of useful info on the marriage licence/ certificate . It confirms that I have the right marriage for Harry Davenport . I had found an obituary for Leona Davenport and it just said widow of Harry so I wanted to see if I had the right Harry Leona . Confusingly there appears to be two Harry Leona entries on the 1940 census . One couple in New York with many children and what I now know is mine in Ohio living with Leona s parents . My next task is to try and find previous marriage or marriages for Harry Davenport as he is said to be divorced at his marriage to Leona .

Ohio marriages and divorces
I'm looking for the marriage of Harry Davenport to Leona Fausnaugh in Ohio . Leona had been married before but was divorced . She and Harry were married by1940 but in 1930 Leona is again using her maiden name of Fausnaugh . On the census return it says she was first married at 18 so that would make her first marriage in about 1922. I can't find a first marriage for her nor a marriage to Harry sometime between 1930 and 1940 . Anyone got any ideas ?
