Hi, I am new to the forum and have hit a brick wall as they say.
My great great grandparents Thomas and Johanna were married in Dunganstown Parish Church (Church of Ireland) County Wicklow 26 Mar 1853 of full age. Both say on the Marriage Record that their parents were unknown. They immigrated to Australia Sept that year. Shipping record says they were 22 and 24, parents unknown. So born around 1829 and 1831, However on their headstone Johanna died in Jan 1907 at 75 and Thomas in Sept 1907 at 84 giving them birth dates of 1832/1831 for Johanna and 1823 for Thomas a difference of 6 years for Thomas. So am wondering if their parents were unknown, does that mean they were orphans, if so where can I find orphan records or where should I start looking. Thanks Regards Cathy
