  • am I missing something here??

I have been tracking the Lydalls and have found something I can't get my head around.

James Henry Robinson b. 1895 Thringstone, Leicestershire is noted as a Step-son to

George Joseph Perry and Hannah Perry

this is them here in 1911:

Begin your discovery today by exploring the world's largest online family history resource!

Source Citation: Class: RG14; Piece: 19098.

with GJP & HP are their other children:

Benjamin Lydall Perry b. 1904 in Whitwick, Leicestershire
Ernest Reginald Perry b. 1907 in Thringstone, Leicestershire.

GJP & HP marry in 1903 in ADLZ dist [her name is given as ROBINSON]

    BUT

    I find in 1901 a William & Hannah ROBINSON with son James A b. 1895 Thringstone

    1901: http://search.ancestry.co.uk/cgi-bin...try&h=17290584
Source Citation: Class: RG13; Piece: 2974; Folio: 142; Page: 42.

though I can't find a marriage for William to Hannah [even though she gives the correct DOB/POB to be 'my' Hannah]

I can't spot anything else that even looks likely!

sorry for such a long post, but, I keep staring at it and getting nowhere fast!..

can anyone else offer a theory or connect the above..

    thanks

First of all Julie, your first post is in 1911. So they fit fine. It's just a marriage you need to find I take it?

      oops sorry about that!..

I am trying to find the marriage between William Robinson & Hannah ? I'm making a right old porridge of this aren't I?

I have found an Ancestry tree with JH Robinson so/William & Hannah, but I think that they have some details wrong!.

Not sure why you are so confused Julie, unless I am looking at this wrongly.

The only difference I can see is that in 1901 James is recorded as James A Robinson, but in 1911 is recorded as James Henry Robinson.
To me it looks as if they are probably the same person, and maybe mistranscribed or incorrectly recorded as James A in 1901.

By the way the first census you have quoted is from 1911 - you have typed
this is them here in 1901:
        - might confuse someone, it did me to start with!

I agree .. just realised it was a stupid comment seeing as James was born c1895!

sorry, [again!] for the confusion, I was looking at this last night and was quite tired. BUT, looking at this now, that marriage Elaine looks very possible!

just need to kill off William for her to be available to marry George Joseph Perry.

I have 'found' James' death, he died in 1970 and his DOB is given as 26 Dec 1894.. so could well be right!.
