Ancestry don't have it indexed correctly - Mary Dorricott should come up on a search but the entry for Frank Meachem isn't indexed at all. You will find the entries if you browse the index pages. Unfortunately this does happen quite a lot with Ancestry transcriptions.

For marriages I find FMP is much better.... they have the entry here

Hi Lloraine. If you put into free BMD - Marriages Sept 1910 and then the ref 6a 1599 they will both come up.

On Ancestry these are the two pages - one won't do as they haven't been cross referenced -

          Mary - http://search.ancestry.co.uk/iexec?h...c=&pid=8202751

          Frank - http://search.ancestry.co.uk/Browse/...M.32&sid=&gskw=

            thanks chrissie

I have always moaned that my meachams are elusive, they do love to hide and seemed to reappear in different parts of the country.

now.....can anyone find frank on the 1911, he is not with mary and baby frank (1st post) and there dont seem to be any likely births in shropshire, mary was born 1889ish so frank should be around that time.

Just being tight really, wont apply for marriage cert to get franks father until i can put something more definite that there could be a link.

frank and mary had a daughter mary in 1912 but there is a death reg for her in 1932, and no marriage.

i can find baby frank 1910 marrying in 1932 and having reg frank, so the name frank seems to be consistent.....

just to put some meat around a bone, this is my frank mecham in 1891

              http://interactive.ancestry.co.uk/65...=&noredir=beta

he does not appear on the 1881 and no further record after 1891, i also cant find a birth or death

mis spelling is very common meacham/meecham/micham/mitcham/metcham/michum just so many

I have marriages and follow ons for his brother and sister (george and elizabeth)

                finding frank...nightmare

please please please can anyone track down frank mecham

                here he is in 1891
                http://interactive.ancestry.co.uk/65...=&noredir=beta

it says age 10 but i cant find a birth/marriage /death absolutely nothing, just this one single census

I have mum/dad/brother and sister in all census and his brother and sisters family right up to the present.

I have tried frank/francis and all the usual combinations, born in bethnal green, lived in lewisham - there is a lewisham birth but thats 1898 so cant be him

I am going round and round in circles but will end up disappearing inside out i know.

Also on the 1891 is agnes and agnes randall, states sister but i cant find any connection between mecham and randall or whitmarsh (elizabeth maiden name) and randall - i thought it may have possibly been agnes son so randall not mecham

Thanks caroline, i wasnt sure whether to keep it as one or separate as they are 2 different franks and didnt want to confuse the shropshire and london sides.

Since your links to the 1891 are identical, I rather assumed they were one and the same?????

yes they are the same from post #7, I had been searching for london frank all over the country (as you do) and found the shropshire family but no marriage, anthonym and chrissie very kindly sorted it out, so i added some meat with the london frank

This family really are an elusive bunch of rotters :D
