Yeah but when I searched for that St Madeleine I got a church and the street came as a house and not a prison so I was unsure.

So it turns out that the census DID relate to the first Annie, now I just need to figure out the terms, was she a Nun or Prison Inmate? Doing a Google search brings up a church so it may be a Nun.

Back to the original topic. I'm not getting anything on the second Annie after the 1891 census- born to William whereas the first one does bring up the census above so I honestly think it's the first Annie.

lol, it's like my granddad. he had an uncle with one version of the name so his mother gave him the longer one after the uncle and it turned out not to be his name after all!

Spent ages looking for them under the names I knew before cousins told me the truth.

We did find a marriage between a William Phillips & a Rose Tebbs. Recon it could be Rosena?

You have to think laterally when doing family tree research!

I've had another search and Anna has now become Annie- found a birth that didn't have George on it.
There's 5 marriages for an Annie Phillips, 3 of them have middle names and 2 don't. The last 1 in 1914 gives the strongest hit, George Evans.

hmm I have the other Annie down as Anna. We could never found out who Rosena was at all. I did send a message to Stockton Roots who stated that the name was similar but that it wasn't Rosena.

Could well be.
There is an Annie Phillips born c 1879 Stockton (daughter of William & Rosena) showing on the 1891 census - you probably need to eliminate her as the details are close to your Annie.
