There are a few trees on Ancestry that have Abel Davenport and wife Catherine Goode, but they give Catherine's year of birth as 1885 so it is probably not her!

The death registration for Catherine Davenport in 1937 gives her year of birth as 1855 ..

That Catherine dies q4 1978 and Abel dies q3 1964 their children may still be alive

According to 1911 and 1901 census returns the above Catherine appears to have been born in Canada.

Ancestry's Index of wills has ...........

Catherine Davenport of 9, Oxford St Liverpool, widow died 5th Feb 1937, effects £94 12s 9d.

Her address would suggest she died in Hospital (147a Mill Rd)

EDIT - sorry, I now realise you had this info. Is it her pre 1901 records you are looking for and who she was married to?

There's a Catherine Jennings Davenport on 1911 census born born Birmingham circa 1853, living Holborn London, a wholesale jeweller
                        http://search.ancestry.co.uk/cgi-bin...ngland&indiv=1

In 1901 living with her is her nephew Abel J Davenport born NY circa 1888

                        http://search.ancestry.co.uk/cgi-bin...try&h=15761356

Surely they must be related to the Catherine your enquiry is focused on?

                          She's probably his sister.

There's a tree on Ancestry has Abel Jennens [sic] Davenport born 25th Nov 1887 NY, parents: Benjamin Jennings Davenport (1852) Birmingham. Benjamin has a sister Catherine Jennens [sic] Davenport born 1850. The tree owner has Benjamin's wife as Kate Hughes, could Kate Hughes be the Catherine Davenport you are searching for? She seems very likely. Perhaps if you contact the tree owner they may be able to help.

Not sure how much more info it's worth posting as your request is ambiguous. If the folks above DO relate to your ancestry please say and I'll post more info.

It seems Benjamin and Kate, or Catherine separated and Benjamin had another partner and more children.

Benjamin's will gives probate to Maria Kitchen spinster, I have Catherine Jennings Davenport in the 1851-71-81-1901-1911 census dying 8 Sep 1916 will 1917 probate to Benjamin Jennings Davenport and their family back to William Dav enport marries Mary Jennens 1816 in Yardley. So Catherine may be Kate Hughes as you suggest.
