Hi Jilly, your photo was taken in a studio, that's a back cloth you can see, and granny appears to be wearing a good suit, probably what she got married in, if you look hard at her blouse and such, she was wearing her best, if they were not well off the chances are she carried the lucky heather rather than a bouquet, they look very young and very serious, I hope they were happy together.

If it's a wedding ring why is it on her little finger?

When I was tinkering with the pic I didnt see a ring at all!

it is possible that she didnt have a ring.. but I would have expected to see one really....

in the first picture it looks like she has a thin band ring on her wedding finger but on julies jigged picture it seems to have vanished

Oh yes, I hadn't noticed that one on her wedding finger. It must have been quite loose because it's nearly down to her knuckle.

Just for interests sake - we were wondering if a wedding photo would be in a studio. I know that this wedding photo was 1937 and that was still in a studio. So yes, it looks as though it could be.

p.s. Can anyone please tell me why I am having trouble resizing on photobucket? I have resized this 3 times and now it's supposed to be only one size up from avatar and still it's big.

marriage of husband's great-uncle Henry Ernest Carter and his bride Kate ("Aunty Kitty") Jarman 2 Dec 1923. This looks like a studio photo with a painted tree in the background.
