The question is actually similar to what happened to an Ancestor I had been researching. Death Certificate showed he had died, 41yrs of age and had body injuries being caused by being run over by a train outside St Albans in Herts. This was November 1933, and like you, I could not find any reference to the story in the BNA.
I then contacted the Hertfordshire Archives, found out that they held microfiche copies of local newspapers for the period and so made an appointment to view the microfiche. I was fortunate in that I found reports from the two days of the Inquest and was able to get copies.
So perhaps it did make the papers but that local paper has not yet been digitised?
