    Freecen may have some transcriptions. If you go to your local library, they should have an ancestry sub you can use there.

      FamilySearch has transcriptions, no fee.

        Also, using different indexes can be useful - sometimes one site has a mistranscription that another site has accurately transcribed.

          Which part of Yorkshire are you researching? Historically, there were three county divisions (Ridings) - East, North and West.
          Some of the local history societies have produced indexed CDs of some of the census returns and parish registers, which may still be available for sale.
          It's difficult to suggest available research sources without any specific details of the what and where . Do you want to give some place names/family names/ dates for possible look ups?
