I have been looking for her this evening, whilst watching TV. wondered if Rhoda Elizabeth morphed into Rose, shame newspaper article doesn't give a location just Canada. at least can rule out new york. been looking for a jones and scott marriage, which are surprisingly very few. but suppose she could have been someone after Jones.
none of the other obits make mention. still alive in 1968, and no mention before!Carolyn

Great find - thank you Caroline. The mind boggles - all a bit of a mixed up lot. And I still have to deal with the Honeysetts . Think I might take a couple of days off before I tackle them .

thought I was onto something there! so many names match, and his mother was Rhoda.
Boulton has been used everytime though.
but Mary Ann disappears, and only sightings of Rose on 1911 censusLast edited by cbcarolyn; 09-03-23, 09:06.Carolyn

Thank you again, Carolyn. Have now managed to track down the census record and add it to the dossier. So she is with hubby one and hubby 2 is the lodger, who she marries in 1914!
I'd better look for a death/burial for Arthur Herbert and also see if there is a death for her little boy.
Edward Charles Scott died in 1964 and his wife Rose E Rush in 1983. Both buried in Pinehill cemetery in Toronto - there is a photo of their headstone on findagrave.
ETA
Meant to say the Rhoda Elizabeth Rush references made sense - fitted with 1901 census for the Jones family, also the date of the marriage to Wm Rush makes sense; Mary Ann's family had (just) moved across the river to NY state, William Jones' first wife was still living and they were having their final shared children. The sequence of events is a pretty good match for Mary Ann's timeline and I feel that I have evidence to prove my case.Last edited by Janet in Yorkshire; 09-03-23, 15:44.Janet in Yorkshire

I haven't got Rhoda/Rose/Elizabeth or Mary Ann or Albert in 1911.
and Mary Ann or Victor Gladstone Jones in 1911 census.
I have found 1911 can see William Honeysett widowed with his children and some of his siblings.
I have not found Albert Rush at allCarolyn

Thanks again Carolyn - great to have documentation for the birth of Rhoda and also the Boulter/Jones marriage..
I have used 3 sources - FMP, Canada libraries and familysearch. Canada libraries does not allow any search parameters; FMP varies as to what resources it uses and familysearch can be very unwieldy to use, as they have so much material and changing the search parameters can produce different sets of results to plough through.
What has become apparent is that each site has had different indexers and so, whilst data entered into one site may produce a hit, it brings up no similar result on one of the other sites.
I could find nothing for Albert Rush; suspect he may have died in infancy. Nor have I found a death for Rhoda's first husband, Arthur Herbert; when Rhoda married Edward Jackson, she declared she was a widow - of course she may not have told the truth!
As this family seem to have kept in touch with a widespread extended family over a number of years, I do wonder how much visiting with other family members they did and if this could have impacted on census night?? I keep having to get my head around the fact that census years differed between Canada and USA. So, if you lived in Canada, but visited a relative in USA in 1911 or 1921, you wouldn't be recorded on Canada census, nor would you feature on USA census 1910 or 1920. There would appear to be a 10/20 year gap in your life.
When I started this thread, I had no conception of what a journey it would turn out to be; no notion that I was going to discover that someone, whom I thought had married, had a daughter and died in England, would turn up in Canada, would marry three men named William and live to the ripe old age of 89.
I am amazed at how lucky I have been in unpicking the saga of the descendants of William Henry Boulter and am overwhelmed by how much information has come to light. I'm very grateful for all the help I've have had along the way..Janet in Yorkshire

the Saskatchewan BMD records seem sparce to non existent on Ancestry so am not surprised I have not found a Honeysett marriage. Mary Ann and Victor could be in USA maybe, so interesting that she ended up in Saskatchewan. Rest of family seem regulars of around Toronto and NY - with Ohio thrown in!
- title of thread has certainly gone a long way - who knew you would turn up so many family membersLast edited by cbcarolyn; 10-03-23, 14:40.Carolyn

Still no nearer with Mrs C E Mitchell of Cleveland Ohio. Thought I might have found her in 1950 Cleveland census, but when I looked closely, the couple were of the incorrect race for a match. Difficult when their use of the word "sister" incudes a widowed sister-in-law, half sister and step-sister as well as birth sister. Also complicated by the number of marriages some of this family had - so difficult to know what surname to search under. I think this has been the most complicated family I've had to deal with in all my decades of research.Janet in Yorkshire

which sisters do you have left? where you don't have all the marriages and deaths?
This is where I think I have the sisters, not even sure if I have all of them!
