My g-grandmother is Sarah McSweeny. We've been discussing the Sweeny/McSweeny family in previous threads. Now I'm asking for your best judgment based on the following records.
One of the early records that I found was Stephen McSweeny's death record: https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy....17/7199677.pdf
I know he was a cabinet maker based on his daughter's marriage record: https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy....79/8013751.pdf
Now I've found what I believe is his baptism record: https://www.findmypast.ie/transcript...FBAP%2F5147490
Here's the problem. His death record says he died at 52, which would make his birth year 1826. But, his first child was born in 1838, so that's not even possible. I assume it was incorrect early on, but could it be this far off? This would mean he was 69 when he died, 17 years older than his death record says.
Do you think his age at death is incorrect? (Obviously, I do.) And do you think this could be his baptism record? (St. Mary's was where all but one of his children were baptized and where he was married.)
