  • James HAYLET baptised 1744 in Antingham, Norfolk

I am looking for the baptism of James Haylet in 1744 in Antingham, the child of Wm & Mary (details as per FMP Index for Norfolk Baptisms). I have located several entries for other children of this couple.

I downloaded the PR images a couple of years ago for Baptisms, Marriages & Burials 1679-1812, but cannot find this entry on the image for 1744. I no longer have a FMP subscription.

Could someone with a FMP sub, please check the transcription for the entry date & the image number ?

      Many thanks Keldon.

Haven't had a chance to view it yet, I've been flicking through too many images on FamilySearch & from what I can find they have been "throttling" access, so I may not be able to view it until tomorrow.

I re-checked my downloads from FMP & it appears that page is missing.

Family search has indexed it using the Gregorian Calendar. It would have been clearer had they indexed it 1743/44
At that time and until 1752 we were using the Julian Calendar
On 13th September 1752, Britain adopted the Gregorian calendar.
The Julian calendar ran from 25th March to 24th March.
The Gregorian calendar from 1st January to 31st December.
          EDIT:
That's why in the Baptism above you can see Richard baptised in April is recorded above all the January ones.
I have found baptisms written by clergy for several years after 1752 still using the Julian Calendar ie starting the new year in April because either they refused to change or perhaps didn't understand why the change had taken place.
          It's complicated!!

Thanks everyone for your help. I managed to locate the image on FamilySearch once I was able to get back in.
