Week 54: My ancestor worked with a travelling show

This is an opportunity to showcase travelling show people from your family tree, you might want to offer a short biography and speak about their work eg
    Name
    Birth location/date
    Family background
Where you've found them on the census
    Their workplace/employer
Any tips on researching this occupation?

Not sure if Catherine is a travelling showman but was certainly and entertainer that travelled from theatre to theatre.

Catherine Emily Grey was my OH's G Grandmother. She was born in Newcastle upon Tyne in 1862 to Ralph and Fanny Devereau Grey, nee Baker

She belonged to a group called 'The De Grey Sisters'. They sang and danced on stage.

I found quite a bit out about her for his Aunt but gave it all to her. What I know is she married William Alfred Carter on 10 Dec 1896 at Holy Trinity Church Stockton on Tees. William was born Staffordshire a a pottery salesman so that might be why he was up in the North.
She already had a daughter when she married and went on to have 2 more children in Derby.

They then moved to Ilkeston and she died in 1948 in Ilkeston.
