    Hello

I have recently been getting hints on Ancestry from 'Geneanet'. Is this info made from others people's tree's in which case I need to be careful or are they 'confirmed' records and I can just take the info as correct?

    Thanks

They are from family trees on geneanet, which ancestry acquired last year i think. It's used by europeans mostly to put their genealogy online. It does have some records, depending on what country you are looking at.

Well, I've certainly seen some incorrect ones. Wouldn't touch them with a bargepole! Not seen any proper records to back them up which is just a no-no for me.

No harm in using them as a clue to search for records, though

I did wonder why they were appearing, but I am assuming they are like any other trees, and can be used as hints that might lead to correct info.
