  • Help with a 1901 census please

    Hi all

I've been trying to find a specific 1901 census for quite a while, I'd be grateful for any help you can give.

James McKanna b approx 1844/7. Mile End New Town. He was a docker/general lab
    Parents: George & Mary McKanna
His spouse: Fanny Godden Frances. Mge=1868

    I have him from 1871 - 1911 but I can't find the family or him on a 1901 census.

In 1911 he appears in The Poor Law Removal & Settlement listing
He appears to have died 1914 in the Sick asylum/workhouse hospital.

He appears to have mucked about with his age a few times, unless I have it wrong?

    Many thanks

Think I have found him in 1901 in Stepney Workhouse. This is on FMP.

James McKenna widower pauper born 1843 Spitalfields, Dock Labourer.

    RG13/ 351 Folio 90 page 9.

Just checked Ancestry but not got a sub. James Mc Kenna. born 1843 Spitalfields. Pls note spelling

Both the burials for James and Fanny are on Deceased on line. You can view for free and it gives the date of burial and they are in Newham, probably the cemetery but doesn't actually say that.

        I'm back!

Many thanks Lin for your help. I'm on Ancestry but not FMP but will see what I can find.
