Is anyone please able to access fold3 images?
Trying to find what info there is about William (Wm) Lacey, born abt 1835 St Margaret's, Leicester.
He was a private in the 19th foot regiment, reg. no. 1977.

The same record is on FmP, its his discharge to pension 13 Mar 1879, age 39.
5ft 10, light brown hair, grey eyes, fresh complexion.
Enlisted 29 Jan 1858 Leicester aged 18 & was a FWK by trade
Intended place of residence was Leicester
Served 11yrs & 10 months in the East Indies
Character very good

The specific record where Fold3 says he was born c1835 is the pension admission book, but absolutely nowhere does it suggest that YoB.

The top of the page is headed 'Claims to Pension Submitted to Chelsea Board on 1 Apr 1879' and his age is clearly given as 39.

Someone at Fold3 can't do subtraction!
