  • Was She Pushed? Did She Jump? Or Did She Fall?

I recently uncovered a harrowing story regarding a 16 year old ancestor of mine. It was a really tragic tale in many ways that raised more questions than answers. It just shows that not all family history stories are happy ones

Every once in a while you stumble across a story, almost by accident and you wonder how on earth have I missed that! Well recently I did just that, whilst doing some random searches on the newspape…

It certainly was a very unhappy story and was a very difficult story to write. I think there is far more left untold to this story than I will ever be able to discover from the records.

aww what a sad story, and quite amazing the child lived, did you trace his life?

I didn't read the whole transcription, as you said it was graphic!

Sadly the child only lived for 10 months, but his little footprint in the world has now been captured

            It is so sad.

I have a very similar thing. My fathers Aunt Eliza Everitt drowned in the River Trent aged 18. The death certificate said Suicide by drowning herself in the river Trent whilst temporarily insane.

The newspaper article said she was pregnant.
