If you are out of sub, the longer you sit tight, the bigger the discount offered. For years, I paid only 50% of the annual cost. Last couple of years it hasn’t been quite that big a discount.
Also check out other countries: the USA .com version in particular. They sometimes have better discounts and if the currency conversion rates are in UK’s favour then pay with a fee free credit card (by that I mean the ones who don’t charge currency conversion fees) and you could be quids in. Halifax Clarity credit card is one of a few possibles.
As with ancestry, it doesn’t matter which country version you log in to.

I have not had a sub for months, been using library, so feel as though I have had a bargain anyway. Library says will no longer be available after 18th November....although it's still working!

I started off with the USA site on what was then called a Pioneer subscription. It was always half price. They did away it a few years ago now but when I cancelled and didn’t renew for ages, they offered me 50% again. The same thing for the following year but since then, I haven’t managed it. Still was getting a whacking discount though and always renewing through USA. Up till 2017 I paid in the order of $50, 2018-20 it was $99.99 as their pricing had shot up and subscription names changed. Last year I had to fork out $152.15 - roughly £114 yikes!
This year the price with the 25% discount is $134.95 which today is £100.35. The UK equivalent is £119.99 so that’ a saving of the better part of £20.

That's interesting GL. Sub up March 22. Only ever been offered 15% in UK for WW but gather that has now changed, now called Pro. Will compare others. Think I did it once before with a better discount

I am thinking that I don't need the WW, think that is all the pro has as I have newspapers separately. The 10% off 1921 census is with pro only.

I note the WDYTYA article was posted 5 July, was that not before the announcement that the full sub would not include USA etc. newspapers.

great, I have just subscribed, might be the best deal for a while. guess they are trying to get people in to hook them in to the census
