      Just catching up. Another lovely story but the last bit about all services required sent shivers down my spine. Been reading a lot about WW2 recently, mostly novels but all seem fairly accurate. Also there has been quite a bit on TV. Not sure whether it was Tony Robinson on the river Thames or Imperial War Museum, but one of them mentioned the London fire brigade during WW2.

      The thing is when we were young it wasn't history so we knew nothing about it from school.

        Thanks Lin, some very poignant words that summed up what these brave men and women faced every shift in the defence of our Country. A generation that just got on with things, they never made a fuss, they just did their bit for King and Country
