GRO problem

hi,
can anyone take a look on GRO search birth and see if they get the same issue as i am - no years from 1934 to 1984. this is on the year drop down the whole of that 50years is not listed.

how do i search for records in that time frame if not listed?

Try ancestry or FMP. GRO is gradually filling in the gap. It used to only be up to 1919 a couple of years ago. I think they are attacking the missing years from both ends.
Also take a look at UKBMD.org. If your county of interest is there, you can get place down to subdistrict. It’s a volunteer project so not yet complete - the strongest so far are Cheshire, Staffordshire and Lancashire.

FreeBMD is the one I use for those not yet on the online GRO index. Unfortunately you have to order the full certificate by post for them.
