  • 1939 register - what do the initials HRP mean?

    Hello,

Has anyone any idea to what the initials HRP refer? They were hand written in the end column of the 1939 register, the person to whom it related was a Head Teacher at a school.

    Suggestions would be most welcome.

    Kind regards

Are you sure it's not badly written ARP? (Air Raid Precautions)

      Thanks Jill,

I've re-checked and it could possibly be ARP, I hadn't thought of that!!

      Kind regards

I recently found a relation at the Stoke Park colony in Bristol (home for mentally defective children) and there is a P under the column OVSP or I.... This is the first time I've seen something in this column.
Does anyone know what OVSP or I mean?
This relation is 30 years old so curious to see if he is working there. Or maybe once mentally defective one remained in the facility for life.
            Thanks

Well I looked in a different spot and discovered it means Officer, Visitor, Servant, patient or Inmate in an institution.
