    Researching a WW1 Soldier

I know we don’t have a military section on here but thought I would write up a bit of a guide for anyone researching a WW1 Soldier. Probably aimed at a less experienced researcher but there are some good links in there as well.

We have a Maritime & Military section here which gives links to useful sites.

I don't think you mentioned this but only glanced through the article but if they died they could have left a will available at £1.50.

Also found my G Grandads regiment on one of his daughters birth certificates and that was a bit help.

Thanks Jill, I don’t mind if it’s moved to that section

Thanks Lin, good point and great value for money. I have a few military wills myself
