A lady has contacted me regarding the house my maternal grandfather lived in for many years. I have started to look at electoral rolls linked to this as she has given different years to what i am aware of and contradict info on certs etc.
Anyway, on 2 of the electoral lists grandad is listed as No.42 RAF site 4 cambridgeshire. What does this mean? Is it likely to be the house number of the barracks? He left the army in 1951 in kent and moved to cambridgeshire, he lived in a house for 2years (normal street) and then moved tot he No.42, is it likely he then joined the RAF or did they allow non-members to be housed etc? He would have been 50/51years old.
