As Sarah had no children worth searching for a will, as yet I can't see it. She might mention a surprise relative. Any idea of the era, or the before date that she and her husband died?

    They are only £1.50

I have looked in papers for all sorts of names and I have not found one member of the family mentioned.

Do you have the birth certs for Sarah & Henry? His name will be repeated on those certs as well.

Also - Sarah/Sadie married? Her marriage cert should also have her father's name.

You know when Sarah/Sadie died? Any chance of an obit?
I have the birth certificate for Henry - not sure how to attach it

Thanks for the instructions. I tried to attach Henrys birth certificate (Simons/Simeons son) and the headstone which I am doubting is the same Simeon/Simon Marks but am informed I am not authorized - could be the same reason I cannot open other peoples attachments (too few posts I think).

                        Gravestone reads (the English bit)

In loving memory of our dear father Simon Marks who passed away 3rd August 1948 aged 92 years.
Deeply mourned by his sons, daughters, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and relatives.

The Simon (Simeon) I am looking far (as far as I know) has one Son and one daughter (one son-in-law, one daughter-in-law) and, at the time of his death would have had no great grandchildren.

I assume that is the 1948 burial.

There is the death record previously mentioned which is 1947, not sure where this would be in Manchester though

                              Name: Simon Marks
                              Death Age: 78
                              Birth Date: abt 1869
                              Registration Date: Jan 1947
                              Registration Quarter: Jan-Feb-Mar
                              Registration District: Manchester
                              Inferred County: Lancashire
                              Volume: 10e
                              Page: 136

using the link that Elaine posted it could be Failsworth burial

but that doesn't sit well with the Salford address in 1939

The cert does say Simon as father. Mother Amelia was informant.

Glad you are up and running attachment wise Michael.
