Frances actually arrived a year earlier than in the naturalisation application. She landed 14 September off the SS California. She had the three eldest children with her.

All dates and places of birth for the complete family (6 children) are in the naturalisation application.

Hmmph. They should be in the 1940 census, but not finding on FS nor Ancestry (just a quick search in each).

Could they have gone back to the UK for a while?

Passenger list shows him arriving in New York from Glasgow on 1 April 1930 on the Cameronia. He travelled alone. There is a also an application for naturalisation dated 2 April 1940 which confirms his date of arrival and that Frances arrived 14 August 1932.

So, which century are we talking about? and do you have a birth year for Robert senior and wife Frances? Presumably also in Dumbarton?
Robert was born 3rd Oct 1902 in Dumbarton, don’t have details for wife Frances Conlon.

Frances arriving with the kids, arriving 14 Sep 1931:

    4
    Frances Lusk 1906 25 Female

    Elizabeth Lusk 1926 5 Female

    James Lusk 1927 4 Male

    Robert Lusk 1929 2 Male

They're on two different passenger lists, one typed, one handwritten. Intended residence is "USA". Previous address was 114 Crosslet (?) Rd, Dunbarton. Handwriting a bit difficult for the road name.

Here's the typed one on FS

    Emigration to USA

Can anyone help with this please. Robert Lusk, his wife Frances(msConlon) & 3 children Elizabeth b, 1926, James b. 1827 & Robert b. 1929 all Dumbarton Scotland emigrated to USA. Don’t know the year, earliest would be 1929.
Looking for details of them arriving, they settled in New York/New Jersey. Thank you.
