I am tried to find out more about the Queenborough freemen of the 1820's. Who were they ? How did they become freemen ? Also researching the election of 1826 and trying to find out if any of the poll books have survived.

As far as I know, freedom of a town or city is either granted by birth or by apprenticeship, but also by good old fashioned bribery, which would result in the "gift" of freedom.
I don't know how you would find out the names of those granted freedom, sorry, nor about the poll books but I would imagine that the books would now be archived, either in the county records or maybe in parliamentary records.
