I am now super confused on this thread Clara is done? You just want to find Lucy 1881, 1891 and her death?

£20 sounds like a lot for download, or am I just mean.

Clara that marries Lewis I'm happy that I have her through the census to her demise. [though I haven't tracked Lewis to his death or their children]

What doesn't help is that I 'thought' I was doing the right thing by merging the old thread with the new, BUT it didn't merge very well and I can't unmerge it now I don't think. I should just have linked to the old thread/topic.

The 'other' Clara that is a boarder with Selina in 1881 I am claiming as Lucy, I cannot see any other reason why she would be lodging with Selina in another household, and try as I can I cannot see any other Claras that would fit the bill. Perhaps she was hiding from someone? or she didn't want any busybodies knowing what her name was?

It could be yes, I have been doing a bit of digging the asylum as it was then was at Winson Green [topside of brum] was renamed All saints hospital and closed in 2000. it is quite near to Witton cemetery too .. I am in touch with a few members of this family [Taylors] and hopefully we will pool information.

a bit about the asylum [which is now part of HMP Winson Green]

Nup. on the 1911 census they Christopher George Poole & Catherine Frances state that they have had four children but only three are still alive. I cannot find the missing child as much as I try! So, I'm thinking that it may have been stillborn and if this is the case it won't be shown in the 'normal' death register?

William Taylor is with sister Clara Lewis 1881

Jane's marriage you mentioned earlier, do you need to add above or did you mean you can't find her after she marries?

I'm not sure Carolyn, if it's the asylum records then it may well be Kew/NA. I did notice an oddity though on her last admission. [which has made me wonder if this is infact her] 29 March 1902 - 11 Jan 1905 now we have a problem as 'our' Lucy we believe died in Jan 1903. So, we [a] Have the wrong Lucy or [b] have the right Lucy but wrong date of death. or [c] none of the above!..

not sure if newspapers would glean anything and I'm useless at searching those!
