I have access to the newspapers archive of FMP. I've noticed that many of the photographs in the newspapers are almost all black, which I assume is a consequence of the paper being scanned when digitised..? Has anyone had any luck requesting a photograph from one of the newspapers, so that the quality is improved?

Not really sure where to start with that, but there's a photo in particular that I'd be keen to get a better copy of, if possible.

I'd be very interested to know this as well.

I just tried to access the newspaper on FMP that a relative appeared on in 1932. It still worked and the photos appear as they should, albeit not great quality, but you make out what it is.
Interested in the following:CRUSH from Essex and London; YOUNG from Wanstead Essex and East London; HODSON from Chester; and GERAGHTY/GERRITY from Chester and Co Mayo
