I think it must have been. Well done I wonder if they will even figure out that my comment and my initial email are from the same person.

They were more than happy for me to join, I wonder how easy it is to join another library without visiting, not checked?
I'm not sure what you mean by "only their own records" but I'm guessing you're referring to what they call their Red Rose Collection via Ancestry Institution which is for Lancashire records. However, there is also access to Ancestry worldwide via Institution. I used this regularly when the libraries were still open. I understand Ancestry Library Edition has an advantage in that you can view public trees, whereas you can't via the library's Institution sub.
If you wouldn't mind posting a query/nudge on their Facebook page similar to what you've done for Dumfries and Galloway, It would be much appreciated...
Thanks for plugging away at this...

Lancs records are on ancestry and website seems to be saying that is how you can search them and access them. Do you know if you can view all records on Ancestry when in the library?

              Will ask on FB

I've just had an email making me very happy ...

I’m pleased to say we’ve managed to negotiate a way for Gateshead Libraries customers to access Ancestry remotely whilst libraries are closed. If you login to your library account here https://bit.ly/3dQ8mWb you will see a link near the top left of the page to take you to Ancestry.

                      Kind regards,

Great news, anyone else not able to access? Nice treat for April - I have ancestry but not WW, so will catch up a on the few I have abroad. was a chance find, as although I get books tend to do by the app, and not notice the rest of the site.
