I still can't find ANY trace of https://search.ancestry.co.uk/cgi-bi...try&h=13183191

in any census other than 1881!! flipping infuriating, I thought I had found her before in 1871 still as a Laundress and called as single.. can I find it... can I heck! it would help me prove/disprove that she is the wrong one too if I could only find her.

Can anyone else spot Margeret Brown b.1830 Wales anywhere else in London in any other census please.

i'm having a devil of a time trying to pin her down!..

                1881: https://search.ancestry.co.uk/cgi-bi...try&h=13183191

                Source Citation
                Class: RG11; Piece: 34; Folio: 111; Page: 44; GSU roll: 1341008

                Margeret Brown 51 wales

                Annie Brown 17 marylebone
                Kate Brown 14 marylebone

not ignoring anyone, just trying to find her.
she should be with her two daughters in 1871..

Thank you, Carolyn. Some of the trees have Margaret down as Margaret Griffiths... though quite how true this is I have no idea... gonna have a mooch about and see if I can spot her in any of the trees... then school run.

yes sorry, Elizabeth is my Elizabeth but I'm not entirely sure which Kate/ie is mine!.. I can find Kate with Margeret as per 1881 above, and I have 'my' Katie in 1871 with her mum Elizabeth.. I just can't find Kate/Marg etc in 1871. Though that still isn't helping me to see which blooming birth record is 'my' Katie!...
I guess I've not made this any clearer!

Yes that is what I have. I also have Katie/Elizabeth in 1871 in Kirkby.. The Kate in Nottingham in 1881 could very well be 'my' kate and she is living in the rough area to meet/marry Richard Skelton in 1887.

what is the crux of the matter is that there are 2 Kate/ies born in Kensington 1866/7 but which one is mine? both MMN is - and Bayswater falls under Kensington

and to top it all off I think I have found Kate/Richard in 1939.. and she helpfully gives her dob as 03 November 1866.... so she could still be either of the Kensington reg's... as one is OND 1866 and the other is JFM 1867..

though thinking about it.. this lends weight that it could very well be OND 1866 doesn't it?? you have six weeks to register a birth don't you? so that means it'd be mid December doesn't it for the 6 weeks to be up.

This was the census that Julie posted I think, can see grandmother is Walters:
                                      https://www.ancestry.co.uk/interacti...60/edit/record

There seems to be 2 Kate browns from London in Nottingham, but I think she is the one that ended up as Skelton?

Ah.. now that I don't know!

Chrissie found that marriage.. everything else fits with that being 'my' Mary Ann Brown aside from her name.. I can't find a James Walters anywhere near so wonder if for some reason it was a convenience marriage [though highly doubtful] and I can't find Mary Ann/Elizabeth in any other 1871 census aside from this one... and by 1881 Mary Ann was back to being Mary Ann Brown.

I'm now sure that Elizabeth b.1846 is mine. [as sure as I can be with the pdf anyhow]

Thank you for the burial details I hadn't seen those [though knew roughly when/where]
