    Certificates from FHL

Hi all, can anyone tell me if I can acquire an actual birth, marriage or death certificate just from a FHL number?
It would be a certificate from Jamaica.

I wouldn't have thought so, unless the number is a reference for ordering a certificate? What is the FHL source?

Have you found a record indexed on FamilySearch.org? That entry will give the film that the record was indexed from.

If it is not indexed on FS, then go to FS's catalog and see if you can find a film that pertains to your records.

But the bigger problem - FHL no longer provides the free lookup service that they used to, nor do they circulate films.
Please post if you see a record you want (but that should really go in the Requests section?)

OK, admin - I posted twice because it gave me an internal error message, and it didn't appear to have posted at all...

just did it again, then did it again.
