  • An American with all four grandparents born and raised in Lancashire

All four of my grandparents left England for the USA in the late 1890s. I have researched and documented them and their ancestors with the General Records Office as far back as 1837. I have gone back even further though church records. The following are the family names of my most recent ancestors: Brown(e), Fielden (Fielding), Henthorn, Jones, Jordan, Goodwin, Carter, Clarkson, McCracken, Walkden, Lomas, Brierley, Bottomley, Williams, Parr, Parker, Thistlethwaite, Gartside, Chaddwick, Kay, Graves, Wylde.

My male "Y" DNA is Ribia2a1a1b4 with an L21 marker indicating English, Northwest Irish and Scottish ancestory.

This is has been great fun! However, I don't know what else to add or to ask. To the best of my knowledge, all of my ancestors were working class and were small farmers or textile workers. No big estates, rich noblemen, or famous people! :-)

    Welcome to FTF, Edwin.

I reckon you might get some suggestions for new research ideas if you post this as a thread in the Family History Research threads section.
